As part of our commitment, we offer a comprehensive suite of low cost services to individuals and organizations who own historic railroad equipment, particularly steam locomotives, typically on static display. Our team of expert preservationists is dedicated to ensuring these invaluable pieces of history are well-maintained for future generations. This service is funded entirely by the generous donations of our supporters, underscoring our mission-driven approach.

Our Free Services Include:
1. Thorough Inspection:
Our preservation experts conduct a meticulous inspection of your historic equipment. We assess the overall condition, identify areas susceptible to deterioration, and document all findings.
2. Detailed Informative Report:
After the inspection, we compile an in-depth report that outlines the locomotive’s current state. This report includes detailed recommendations for preservation and maintenance, tailored to the specific needs of your locomotive.
3. Basic Preservation Steps:
In collaboration with the locomotive's owner and local authorities, NSP undertakes minor preservation tasks at little to no cost. These tasks include:

Removal of Corrosive Materials: We clean and remove any corrosive substances that may cause further damage to the locomotive.

Spot Painting: To prevent rust and other forms of deterioration, we apply spot painting to vulnerable areas.
